Active Inactive Handicaps
From January 2010 handicap certificates will be marked INACTIVE if you have not played 3 qualifying competitions during this current season. This applies to both Ladies and Men.
Whilst checking your handicaps you may notice you have an (i) next to your handicap. This states that currently you have an inactive handicap and are unable to enter club competitions or play in teams. If you are unfortunate to have this, you will need to play 3 qualifiers within the calendar year so you can be active again. To do this you will need to play 3 competitions (that are qualifiers)
Congratulations to Jean Bailey who has been picked to represent the Essex County Ladies team in their next match, a great honour and well done Jean.

Congratulations to Derrick (Del Boy) Pearson who won the winter Arthur West Competition by a massive 21 points from Dave Gregson in second place, Joe Dalzell in third and Fred Wallace in fourth place. The Arthur West registers the first points on the 2010 Golfer of the Year Competition so we all need to get cracking if we’re to prevent Del Boy from running away with this one as well. Mind once his handicap has been severely reduced he’s going to find it a little harder – or is he?
